Who hasn't heard of the OSP brand and lures? For many people, OSP (Osprey Spiritual Performer) is theone of the best brands on the world market for bass and other predators. In this article, we set out to discover this legendary brand and select the best OPS lures in our opinion.

Introducing OSP and the creator of its lures

Toshinari Namiki is certainly one of the best lure designers of all time. He created the OSP brand in June 2000, 23 years of existence at the time of writing.

Namiki had become a professional black bass fisherman, but at the time it wasn't enough to make a decent living. So he was forced to work on the side as a taxi driver to pay his bills.
In the beginning, OSP was not only a lure manufacturer, but also a private office that was compulsory to have on bass fishing tournaments in the United States. He used it as a studio to develop his new lures for the American tournaments.

OSP's lure manufacturing policy remains unchanged after all these years. The aim is to produce quality lures without promising short delivery times. It's frustrating for anglers, but the quality is there!

OSP Bentminnow

The Bentminnow is the lure that propelled OSP to the top. It is a floating curved hard lure. Its special feature is dead sticking.

This means that it perfectly imitates a fish dying on the surface. When you animate, it undulates erratically. Ultra realistic in the water! A must-have from OSP. Available in several sizes: 76mm, 86mm, 106mm, 130mm.

OSP Yamato and Yamato Jr

The Yamato is a cylindrical stickbait. The special feature of this lure is its double attachment system on the nose. A top eyelet will give the lure an S-shaped action if the retrieve is constant. The bottom eyelet gives a more classic walking the dog action.

Another special feature of this OSP lure is the two protrusions on its cheeks. This will make the walking the dog very aggressive by propelling the water very hard. This stickbait is available in sizes 94mm and 11.8mm.

OSP Buzzbait Zero Two

Finally a buzzbait that clicks! That's the most important thing about a buzzbait - its sound! And that's where OSP comes into its own! The buzzbait Zero Two has a sound like no other, and triggers very big fish thanks to its very low clicker.

The Durga 73SP is a minnow that casts extremely far thanks to its magnetised mass transfer! It is therefore completely silent during animation. Very effective on bass and trout. A real little treat!

OSP Asura 925SP

OSP Rudra 130

OSP Dolive Craw

First and foremost, craw fishing is not just for black bass. All predators eat them! And you can adapt the dolive craw into a texas rig, carolina rigweightless, drop shot, shakyhead, jigtrailer etc...

In addition, this OSP Dolive Craw is equipped with two claws that undulate during recovery. Also equipped with several appendages along the body, their role is to slow the descent during penetration of the water.

OSP Dolive Shot

First of all, let's look at the shape of this very special lure. L'OSP Dolive Shot has a two-thirds tubular body and a fringe of straps at the rear of this OSP lure. This lure is reminiscent of one of Gary Yamamoto's predecessors: the FAT IKA. It has proved to be a formidable lure on black bass for several decades.

The Dolive Shrimp is a mix between a creature and a crayfish. It is very long, which makes you think of a leech. This type of aquatic organism is a very popular delicacy with Black bass (Micropterus).
