Information about your guide

Damien

Originally from the Aveyron, I now live in the Pyrenees, more specifically in the Aure valley at Saint Lary Soulan.

I've been an avid fisherman since childhood and have spent a lot of time on the water. I could spend hours watching the water in search of a shad that hides very well in the middle of its environment, on the lookout for a chase, eddies, wriggling, or even managing to spot and see the fish on its spot... Hours and hours of crabbing in this magnificent nature...

The detailed programme

It is advisable to prepare your trout fishing guide in Spain in advance to obtain licences and cotos, which are essential in this region.

Trout fishing in Spain has a number of special features. Most rivers are divided into several categories known as "cotos". There are different types of cotos, and you need to know exactly what the fishing rules are on each course, for each river.

On most Spanish rivers, it is only permitted to fish with artificial bait (spoons, lures, flies) fitted with a single barbless hook. It is also forbidden to weight lines (except for flies). The use of natural bait is prohibited on all courses where fish must be returned to the water, but also on social streams where the taking of fish is authorised.

It should also be noted that the use of felt soles is prohibited when fishing in Spain, in order to prevent the spread of various exotic species. Spanish regulations are very strict, and we make a point of respecting them to the letter during our trout fishing days in Aragon.
