Lac de Lacanau (also known as Lac du Moutchic) is a natural lake covering almost 2,000 hectares. It is located in the commune of Lacanau, on the Atlantic coast of the Gironde department. It is one of the largest natural freshwater lakes in France, set in an exceptional forest environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carnivore fishing, particularly for pike, is king here. <\/strong>Pike are very present, with a large number of large fish over 80 cm. Lac de Lacanau is also very rich in poles<\/strong> which move in shoals near the sea grass beds. It's not unusual to catch perch over 40 cm long in Lacanau.<\/strong>.
