Fly fishing is both a outdoor activitiesa hobby and a sport.
This recreational fishing technique is characterised by the use of artificial flies and a line, called a fly line, whose weight and thickness are used to propel the fly by means of a so-called "whip" cast.

A fly-fishing course is open to beginners and experienced anglers alike.

Information about your guide

Ghislain

As a trout angler, I fish in the spirit of catch and release (No Kill), using adapted techniques such as toc, fly or tenkara, an ancestral Japanese technique dating back to the 8th or 9th century. Specialising in sport fishing and discovering aquatic environments, I'd be delighted to put my experience and knowledge of an area rich in fish diversity at your service.

The detailed programme

An artificial "fly" is an imitation of any prey likely to be eaten by a fish.
Fly fishing can be divided into three categories defined by what the fly is trying to imitate:

The dry fly (imitation of floating insects on the surface)
The nymph and the drowned fly (imitation of the larvae or nymphs of aquatic insects moving on the bottom or drifting naturally between two waters)
The streamer (imitation fry or small fish)

The whole day or half-day will take place on the banks of a river in the Plateau de Millevaches, on one of the 3 courses specially designed for this technique, with the possibility of doing several courses over the day.

The fly fishing courses are located 70 km from Limoges and 80 km from Brive.
